Kylemore's Neo Gothic Church

Description

circa 1881 this sandstone miniature cathedral was built by Mitchell Henry in honor of his beloved wife, Margaret Henry who died at the age of 45. Its marble pillars are a representation of the four marble regions of Ireland. Green from Connemara, Black from Kilkenny, Red from Cork and White from Tyrone. This is still an active Irish catholic venue and is a 5 minute walk from the infamous Kylemore Abbey in Connemara Ireland along the shores of Lough Pollucapai.
